Formed in 1894 by a group of like-minded local builders, the Builders’ Association has grown from strength to strength and now has more than fifty members.

Our Full Members range from sole traders to Public Limited Companies and our Associate Members represent a similarly broad spectrum. The Association exists to look after and promote the interests of construction companies in the area. 

Whilst the companies within our Association are based in North and North East Lincolnshire, their work extends to a much wider area including East and West Lindsey, East Yorkshire and Hull.

Our Members build more new homes in North East Lincolnshire than any other group.  Some of our Members are also involved in the contracting side of the construction industry and have built many factories, schools, offices and public buildings in the area.

The Association continues to work hard to ensure that the views of its Members are heard.  It has seats on many Local Authority groups, including the Environmental Group and Regeneration Group, and the Association’s Secretary sits on the North East Lincolnshire Local Strategic Partnership.  The Association is recognised by North East Lincolnshire Council as the representative body of the local construction sector and has a good working relationship with the Planning Department (now Balfour Beatty).

But it’s not all work!   Members of the Association enjoy taking part in the wide range of social activities that take place throughout the year.  From go-karting challenges, a day at the races, our annual Gentlemen’s Dinner and the prestigious Ladies Dinner there really is something to suit everyone.  These events are always well supported and any surplus monies raised are given to charity. We are delighted to have donated over £20,000 to charity over the last ten years. From NSPCC to Family Links Around Grimsby (FLAG), we donated to national and local charity groups.

Our Members take great pride in being part of the Grimsby District Builders’ Association, and in return the Association will continue to do everything possible to look after its Members for another 115 years.
